Confirmation Name

The purpose of taking on a special Confirmation Name is to signify your new life in Christ as a fully initiated person. Our parents, generally, are the ones who give us our baptismal names (our first and middle names), as well as our surname (our last or family name). But, with Confirmation, you yourself have the opportunity to add yet another name as an identifier of who you are.

A Confirmation Name is often times (but not always) borrowed from the name of a Saint whom we admire and whose qualities of life, personality, faith, and virtues we hope to imitate as fully initiated disciples of Christ.
